A controversial stoppage time penalty has helped Juventus snatch a 1-all draw against their hosts AC Milan, in the 1st leg of their Coppa Italia Semifinal.
In a goalless first half, it was the hosts who had the better start, but Juventus gradually grew into the match. After the break, a string of good saves from veteran goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon, kept Juve in the match, until he was finally beaten just after the hour mark, though a clinical volley by Ante Rebic.
The hosts then suffered a blow by going a man down in the 71st minute, when defender Theo Hernandez was sent off for a 2nd booking.
AC Milan seemed to be heading for the win, until the referee awarded a penalty for Juvey, following VAR review for a handball by Davide Calabria. Cristiano Ronaldo made no mistake from the spot to score for the 11th successive match.
It ended 1-all, with Juventus taking a slight advantage back to Turin for the second leg on the 4th of March.
